About our School

THE KALKUNTE EDUCATION TRUST ®
S.CADAMBI VIDYA KENDRA

The Kalkunte Education Trust was formed in the year 1939 by a group of eminent educationists and philanthropists with a vision to build academic institutions Par excellence and to nurture the character of the young ones to grow into diplomatic citizens of our country.

It was aimed to cherish the heritage handed over to the community by the elders of yester years. Nourish it and develop it fully to meet the needs of present generation. To achieve this purpose, it was the dream to establish own educational and cultural centre in the metropolitan city of Bangalore to expand the service in the cause of education. The dream came true by procuring a site and constructing own building in 1984 and the responsibility of running the school was entrusted to a sub committee of retired teachers and educationalists. Thus S.Cadambi Vidya Kendra came in to existence during the academic year 1984-85.

THE FOLLOWING INSTITUTIONS ARE MANAGED BY THE TRUST:

1. S.Cadambi Vidya Kendra Nursery School.

2. S.Cadambi Vidya Kendra English Primary School (ICSE)

3. S.Cadambi Vidya Kendra English Secondary School (ICSE)

4. S.Cadambi Vidya Kendra High School (STATE)

5. S.Cadambi Independent Pre-University College.

The school has both ICSE and STATE pattern functioning together in the same premises. The all India council for secondary education Delhi is all praise for our school for the school’s outstanding performance in the ICSE examinations. The syllabus, curriculum and the scheme of examination of the two systems are different, the quality of teaching, the infra-structure facilities provided and the general discipline maintained in the two schools are of high standard. These factors have contributed for the bright ‘image’ of the school.

The infra-structure facilities provided for the educational activities are satisfactory – well ventilated class rooms, laboratories, library which will be kept open on all working days, facilities of physical education and various sports in in-door and out-door for the benefit of the students. The equipments and furnishings are planed to be upgraded to the modern needs in the forth coming years to enrich the atmosphere which certainly helps students to use their knowledge and skills to pursue a spirit of enquiry that brings out their latent abilities.

Centralized record maintenance, administration and accounting software is being developed to facilitate the parents to know academic records of the students on line through internet and quick accession of records & compiling by the office.
It is planned to enrich the nursery wing by additional apparatus (Montessori) which provide basic concepts to the young brains.

In order to meet the long pending demand of the parents to help their children in continuing P.U education in the institution, S. Cadambi Independent Pre-University College was started form the year 2007-08, with separate building block with spacious and well ventilated class rooms
On the academic side, both the ICSE and the High school have a proud record. The school well qualified teachers. The quality of teaching has been good. The results secured in the public examination year after year bear ample testimony to the effort made to keep the standards high.

The children are encouraged to participate in a number of inter-school competitions and also in AIR programmes. They have won prizes and trophies in many of these competitions.
